Lana Minami, a 7th grader, has studied piano with Momoko Muramatsu since age 7. She has won multiple Gold awards at the OMTA Period Festivals and 1st place in the OMTA Sonatina Festival in 2018 and 2019. Lana has also been a two-time award winner in 2021 and 2023. She earned the Gold Medal at the Seattle International Piano Festival in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and won 1st prize and the Exceptional Young Talent Award at the International Music Competition Bonn “Grand Prize Virtuoso” junior category. Recently, she won 1st prize at the 2023 OMTA Scholarship Competition “Tom O’Brien Junior” and the 2024 “Eleanor East and Edward G. Michaels”Piano Scholarship.

Outside of music, Lana enjoys singing, hip-hop dancing, and hanging out with friends.

What is one thing we would never guess about you? I love roller coasters so much!

What’s on your bucket list? Go on many trip with my friends.

What is your favorite place to visit? Japan! To see family and friends.

Where is the most wonderful place you’ve ever been? Seoul or Honolulu It’s so pretty there and the culture is so cute.

What is your spirit animal? A puppy or a quokka
